DMV (Long) Weekend Ideas
Most of our weekend plans are thanks to by Cheng Meng 🫶; while I track them into spreadsheets and a dashboard, allowing for some very basic keyword searches and filters. I’ll continue updating it as we explore more. Hope this helps!
• Place & Trip: Each row in the spreadsheet represents a place visited. A trip consists of one or more places visited within a single itinerary.
• Trip Duration: 1-day trip means no overnight stay. 2-day trip includes one overnight stay. 3-day trip includes two overnight stays.
• Unique ID: Each row has a Unique ID in the format MMTTTPP, where:
MM → Month of the trip (e.g., 02 for February).
TTT → Trip ID within that month (e.g., 005 for the 5th trip in February).
PP → Order of the place visited within that trip (e.g., 04 for the 4th place visited in that trip).
• Month: There’s definitely no need to confine each place to the month I visited. I included the month only for record-keeping and reference.
The trips and places include some restaurants, but the full list of restaurants I’ve visited and recommend is in another tab “Restaurant”, which has more details about the food.
Tag: Each place has one or more tags, representing the categories I assigned to it. There are 9 categories:
town;
park/trail/beach;
farm;
GLAM/aquarium/church;
restaurant;
bookstore/market/shopping;
events;
tour/ferry;
winery.
